Buying my first car.. How much would expenses be?

So i'm planing on buying my first car, so since i never owned one i don't really know how much expenses would be, like insurance, Gas money, Parking (i go to university in LA so parking money would be a lot) and other things.

I'm either going to get a 2012 ford escape which is about $21 440 or an 2012 Ford Fiesta which is about $15 670.

Please help. How much would i pay monthly, and stuff like that. After i buy the car what else would i have to do?

Soo Im 18. Im a senior in highschool and Im ready for a car. Ive been looking around online and im in LOVE with MUSTANGS. I have my permit and still have to go take my driving test. Im pretty sure Ill pass. In the meantime im trying to convince my parents on buying me a ford mustang. I dont want a new one. Probably late 90's early 2000's. My parents are completely against it!!! They say it will waste too much gas and its not safe and insurance would be to high. They want me to get a Honda civic or an altima or something like that. So my question is would insurance be high? Its a 1997 mustang. 3.8L V6.Only $4500.with 73000 miles. Is it a good deal?? And good for me??

My car caught on fire?

I drove my car (Nissan Altima 1997) to Pep Boys (Long Island) for a fix on 02/04 because of the leak issue. I dropped it off. When I came back from MacDonald after lunch, the car caught on fire, which melted almost the whole front part. The Pep Boy technician said afterwards the leak gasoline caused the fire when he tried to start the engine. I am still waiting for the report from the fire marshal Dept. And my Geico insurance does not cover fire damage. So what should I do now? Great thanks!

My sister is using and dichting me?

We used to be close until she completely changed. But because she's my sister and how close we used to be, I try to be there for her. She doesn't have a job, a car or any money. I love her to death and I try to help her, be there and support her. But lately I'm starting to hate my sister.

She takes my stuff all the time. At first, it didn't bother me. But than it got more annoying when she abuse them and never returns them. I personally hate it when people take my stuff without my permission. Nobody provides me anything. I have to work for it. I literally bust my ass through pain and sickness for my money and things in my life. I don't get paid much either. Regardless, I'm thankful for the things I do have and I cherish it. Sometimes I don't have money to eat. But when I do have food, she takes it without asking. Leaving me nothing.

I have a car. I pay my own gas, insurance, tag, repairments, ect. My sister calls me when she and her friends need a ride. They only invite me over so they'll have a reliable car. She doesn't pitch in with anything. I once tag alone and they completely ignored me. Never again.

Sometimes she makes plans with me. When I call her or text her to see if we're still on, I get no reply. In the end, she's out with her friends. I feel stupid because people try to make plans with me but I say no for her. She only calls when she needs or want somethin from me. But when I'm out and she's home, she wants me to go home for her.

This has been happening for the longest. It hurts me and I feel used. I've had talked to her but she still does it. I try again today. She pretty much told me "I get butthurt easily and I needs stop being a bitch." So what should I do? Treat her like she treated me?

Will I lose Legal Custody of my son?

I will try to make tis as brief as possible but give you all the facts. When my son was born his father did not believe he was his. He ordered me to take a paternity test which I gladly took because I knew he was his father. After the tests came back he went to a lawyer and had custody papers drawn up giving me Sole Custody of my son. We agreed to him paying $250 per month which would increase with the cost of living every year. He was also supposed to pay half of his medical bills and any extra curicular activities. Now those were for when my son got older. The year my son turned 5 he started paying me $350 per month and that is where it has stayed for the past 11 years. When my son was 4 he was diagnosed as being ADHD, ODD and tourettes. Most of his medical bills have always been covered by my work insurance however my out of pocket expenses were $100 per month. I never asked my ex to pay for any of that. Growing up my son played soccer, hockey and baseball. His father payed for 2 seasons of hockey. I never asked him to pay anything more than that. For the past 2 years I have put out almost $15000 for his baseball as he now plays at an elite level. I never asked for a cent from his father. I bought a new truck 5 years ago now and gave him my car that was only 4 years old at the time. I did not charge him a cent for it as I wanted to make sure my son had a safe car to ride in. I have never enforced a visiting schedule. He has had open access to our son since the day he was born. We have maintained or so I thought a good relationship for the sake of our son. Last summer my son wanted to move in with his father as he turned 16. I let him go because if I forced him to stay which is in my rights to do so he would only hate me. His father is more of a buddy to him than a father who allows him to drink with him. His father does have a bit of a drinking problem however he is able to function to hold down a job. I am okay with my son living there however I do not want to relinquish my legal rights. He informed me the other day that he is taking me to court to get Sole Custody of him. In the past year my son has gotten a lot of attention from both college scouts in the states to major league scouts. Next spring he will be entered into the Major League draft and if he signs a deal his father will take that money and use it for himself. He has never had any interest in having my son live with him or having custody of him. He has however had a good relationship with him since he was born and although he spoke to him daily he never really started spending a lot of time with him till he turned 13 which was his own choice and not mine. He is also taking me to court for child support even though I have continued to pay his baseball fees, buy his school supplies and clothing. The reason I did that is because there was no way I was giving him money to sink into a bottle. I have also had nothing but good things to say about him and the fact he stepped up to the plate to take responsibility for him. All these years I could have been getting a hell of a lot more money because he makes $32 and hour and I make $17 an hour. I have never taken him to court because it was never about money for me. I wanted my son to have both of his parents. Because he is 16 I believe the courts will grant him Sole custody as my son has a say in where he wants to live. I'm okay with him living with his father if that is where he wants to be but I do not want to give up control on decisions regarding my son. Has anyone had a similar experience or knows the law to give me advice on what I should do?

My car was hit by a police officer's brother and he lied on the report!?

the man was coming from a side street (don't know if he stopped at the stop sign or not) between traffic to turn left onto the 2way main street I was on, and he t-boned my driver's side back door and quarter panel.
His front bumper was pushed in and he had fender corner damage (but not to his headlight/signal light). There was traffic, but no one stopped so there weren't any witnesses. This guy tells me he is sorry and we exchange insurance info, then we leave. No one was hurt, and I was a couple blocks from my house so I slowly drove home, and called my insurance. He went to the police station and made a police report and called his insurance, telling a lie about how the accident happened, and saying we were on the same street going the same way and I cut into his lane and sideswiped him. The police would not take my statement or version of events, telling me that they can only accept one report for the same accident. I was furious. At first, his insurance company said they would pay for my repairs because the pictures sent by their adjuster show that the man was 100% liable. Then, two hours later, they called me back with an attitude, saying that they will not pay anything, and the pictures mean nothing (his word/police report against my word). This was 2 weeks ago, I'm still trying to figure out how to make this disgusting liar pay for the damage he caused - and today, I found out that he lives with his brother, who is a police officer! OMG, I'm terrified, what can I do?
Well my insurance as well as his was LIABILITY ONLY - so my insurance will not fight for me and won't give me any advice or pay my damages, because I have LIBILITY ONLY. According to his insurance adjuster's pictures, my insurance (and his) found me not liable, but his insurance changed thier mind and won't tell me why except to say that its his word against mine and the pictures mean nothing. And to the guy accusing me of making up a "crooked cop" story: NO I'm not, you should've READ my post before answering, and you obviously watch too many movies. I'm just trying to get this guy to pay for the damage he caused, I didn't know he lived with a cop when he hit me, and I don't know if his brother is crooked or not. How do I "make sure" that the police include my statement, when they refuse? I have already filed my State crash report, which is for statistics. My car looks like the Incredible Hulk punched my rear door/quarterpanel. This
was NOT a sideswipe, and with no money for an attorney and a guy with a biased report, I don't know what to do...my car was near mint and his car has already obviously been in several accidents (and, it wasn't even his car, the car and insurance is in another relative's name!). My teenage daughter was with me, but she cannot be used as a witness, I'm told. just can't believe there is nothing I can do about this. And it IS a big deal because he caused $3800 of damage, and I should not have to pay his damage AND mine, too, when HE is the one who wa supposed to stop and make sure he could turn left across main street traffic to turn left and hit my car. I had no stop sign, no stop light, and I had the right of way. He's lying on his report to police - and something must make him feel confident about getting away with it.

Logically, shouldn't other other factors like race, religious affiliation, and nationality also be considered? Not just gender?

@ Jessica Nacirema - Well it's a lot easier to ruin a blouse than a tshirt. Most blouses are delicate fabrics and are more expensive to clean.

Fronting? - UK Car Insurance?

Hi,

Could anyone give a proper definition of "fronting" regarding car insurance in the UK?

For example, who goes under the heading of a fronter? In which cases would it be illegal to go under a more experienced driver's insurance policy?

I understand why a 17 year old who just got their driving licence wouldn't be allowed to hide behind their parents' 20 years of No Claims, but would a 25 year old be able to go on their parents' policy?

I've tried looking at the insurers' websites but they'll happily give a quote for anything, even if it's illegal, without saying so, so I can never be sure if it's wrong or not

Hello everybody!
Most comedians will start the show by saying Hows everybody doing! followed by asking everybody if their ready to laugh or something like that. I always think to myself the people that scream Yes! must be darn optimistic, not like me of course. I actually attempted to create comedy insurance, that way I could get get my money back after watching a show that felt more like a wedding.

Im not a big fan of weddings, they just remind me how lonely I am. that's why I spend most my time internet dating, I do most of that on twitter. I followed a girl once, it ended with me getting a restraining order.

I have a few other tricks up my sleeve, I sometimes carry a cane around with me, it makes me look like doctor house. This lets me walk into hospitals and say to the women there, ''hey, im a gynecologist'' of course im not qualified to do this, and I suspect this resulted in quite a few unexpected deaths.

I needed therapy as a child, apparently I have a repressed memory. They say I murdered a therapist. I also tried to do a stand up show recently, but apparently you can only have two people on jail visitation days.

Im writing my own self-help book. I discovered how to get rich quick using only three items, a gun, a balaclava and a fast car.

When I was young, I was quite the history buff, me and my friends would do role play games, our favourite was FRENCH MILITARY. Well I think it was our favourite, I would ask them but obviously they all died. We actually had to hire a sweatshop to sow us enough white flags.

My favourite board game is monopoly, I actually hate playing it, but the money works great on the old people at supermarkets.

I'm pretty sick of living in the U.S. and i have always wanted to live in England so...
How hard will it be to get a visa and then afterwords citizenship.. i know to get citizenship or to really be in England at all you will have to prove that you can afford living there...
when i come i will have a Degree and be a doctor so i will be able to afford living there and stuff..
BUT My questions are these:

Clothes - just a estimate of how much i might spend per month getting maybe two new outfits a month.. I would probably be shopping at the Bull Ring in Birmingham.
Price of a nice two bedroom flat in either Birmingham or Cambridge or maybe even Brighton.
Going to the Theatre maybe twice-three times per month.
Two Mobile Phones(Per month, with Texting, Web, Etc.)

I gave permission to my mother to borrow my spare car?

So my mother got an engine knock in her car so she needed a car, my mother asked if she can borrow my car which is an 09 Acura that always sits in my garage in case my main car breaks down. So I let her borrow my car and she called the next day that my indash navigation was stollen and my entire dash pannels where snapped, yes I would involve police but I wouldn't only because of insurance claim policy (I don't want the insurance to get higher). So I don't know what to do, I know she didn't lock it as usual but it should have locked itself and the anti theft siren should have turned on. I don't know what happened. Now what? Hello. Could someone please write a letter for me to the board of directors of my company as im very poor in english!

Well, I am working currently as a driver in an insurance company since 4 years ago. My task was that I should use my own private car to go to my director's place, and there, I take the company's car which normally she keeps with her, and drive her to the office in the company's car !

But since, at that time, when I joined the job, there was an ex director, She lived not far away from my home. But still, they refunded me my car's expenses as the bus fare because I was supposed to take the bus to go to her place. Since she lived not far away, I decided to use my car to avoid any stress in the morning and in the evening. And this kept on for 4 years.

But the problem is that the time I finish in the evening, there is no bus available, so obviously i am supposed to use my own car. and still, im being refunded the bus fare not the car's fare which is thrice the bus fare!

After two years, a new director came. She decided to move to another place, which was a bit far from my house! Still, I had to managed with my car itself. and they refunded me the same amount of money for the bus fare. Currently, she is moving a new place which is very far from my place. But I decided I will not use my car to go to her place because all my over time's money will be used for my car's expenses, fuel, etc.. Its not fair. I am helpless.

I had enough of sacrificing me and my family because its as if I am working for free for the company. Because I have to take money from my pockets to put in my car! And i am left with at least nothing.

I had already made a request to my director to review my travelling allowance, but she is so weird and nasty and is not in a position to understand my problem.

Thats why i am asking for your help so that someone could write a letter for me explaining my position because i dont know how to write one.
